Diabetes
At age 7, Chandler Simpson learned she had Type 1 diabetes.
And at almost the same time, she learned that she was going to have a sibling who might someday help cure the disease.
Researchers at Wake Forest University’s Institute for Regenerative Medicine are trying to grow cells in the lab that, once implanted in the body, will render Type 1 diabetes a thing of the past.

Diabetes
Up to 15 percent of pregnant women in India are developing diabetes, raising the risk of their children developing the disease, said experts on Sunday, who blamed factors including malnutrition.
Experts at a diabetes summit in Chennai in southern India said genetics, a sedentary lifestyle, as well as women simply being undernourished and unable to cope with pregnancy, were the main reasons for the high rate of diabetes in pregnancy. Rates of diabetes in pregnancy, or gestational diabetes, in Western countries are typically around 5 percent.

Connecting with the Moon phases, the Full and New Moon phases in particular, is something anyone can do very easily. It is all about energy (isn’t everything?) and directing the energies in a positive way. In other words, there isn’t anything woo-woo about using the Full and New Moon energies, in case certain images of running around naked and chanting in the moonlight are coming to mind! As many of us already know, we as humans, the animals and our planet Earth are highly influenced by the Moon in various ways.
Besides regulating the menstrual cycles of females on this planet and the ocean’s tides, the Moon phases affect our moods and emotions. Just ask those who work as police officers, doctors and nurses, restaurant owners - any profession working directly with people and they will tell you without a reasonable doubt that something is different with the behavior of people during the Full Moon and New Moon. If the gravitational pull of the Moon is strong enough to cause tides, just imagine how it affects us and we are made up mostly of water.

Whether we are for or against psychedelic experiences, we have to be amazed with the possibilities and potential of a chemical that can expand our consciousness beyond our everyday awareness. The chemicals act as a catalyst to take away the rigid structures of our nerves which basically affect how we see the world.
We know that before entering these sessions it is absolutely necessary to go through some preliminary ground rules so that you can be ready for what you are going to experience and so that you won’t be overwhelmed by what you are about to experience.

The magic of the tarot was obvious to me the first time that someone confirmed that my tarot card reading was accurate. Of course, the first time that I did a tarot reading for someone else I really had no reason to believe that the reading I was about to give could be so revealing. I was amazed at the words that sort of just came out of my mouth, all by themselves. And I couldn’t have told you a minute earlier what I had in mind next to say. The words were just there, and I was speaking them.
The power of the tarot is much more than simply the interpretation of the symbols on the cards. The story it tells goes much deeper than that. It’s as if an energy field is created by the spread that is thrown, and a light trance state is entered into by taking a few deep breaths. And then the reading begins. Then a series of pictures, symbols, colors, feelings, sounds and words are experienced inwardly as I focus on asking the questions that will provide the information being sought.

Sometimes trying to be spiritual holds us back from actually living the spiritual life we want. In our quest to live such spiritual and good lives, we often avoid the stuff that makes us seem unspiritual, even if that very stuff can move us toward our own spiritual growth.
Spiritual seekers are well aware of the power of intention. We know that it is the thought behind the action that is more important than the action itself. We know if we are motivated by fear and take action based on that fear, the results can be limiting and work against us.

Before Donna was born she took with her a dollar, Peter took with him a pen and Harry brought along a hammer. These were the only significant things that these people brought with them into their physical lives from birth.
All of us before we are born bring with us the most useful thing that we could imagine that would work for us in the physical world. It was our desire to experience a specific aspect of physical life using only the one item that we could bring with us. The items mentioned above are metaphorical but the experience will be real in our minds. This is the beginning of a new episode of survivor to take place in the real world using the only gifts or talents that we bring with us.

That was the moment that changed his life! Michael would never be the same again. That Sunday morning in church, Michael had a revelation. The preacher, Father Robert was talking about the purpose of our life. He said that unless and until we find out why we are here, we will never be happy. “God made us for a reason,” he said, “and we have to find that reason.”
This was the solution that Michael had been waiting for. Now he was out on a mission to find his purpose. After three years, Michael still had not found it. The question on his mind was, “Where should I start to look for it and how will I know that something is my purpose?” In this perplexed state, he decided to go back to Father Robert.
